It is not every day that a senior living community gets a surprise visit from the Green Bay Packers. But on April 17, 2026, residents, families and team members at Oak Park Place Dubuque welcomed the Packers Tailgate Tour for an unforgettable morning of football fun, laughter and connection.
The visit was part of the 20th Packers Tailgate Tour, which brings current and former Packers players to communities throughout the region. Oak Park Place kept the visit a surprise, building excitement with a football-themed week that hinted something special was coming.
When the Tailgate Tour bus arrived, the energy in the room changed immediately.
Joining residents at Oak Park Place Dubuque were former Packers Desmond Bishop, James Jones, Brandon Jackson and Randall Cobb, along with current players Evan Williams and Edgerrin Cooper. Together, they joined residents for spirited rounds of football-themed bingo, cheering on their tablemates and bringing plenty of friendly competition.
The Packers players were competitive, high-spirited and incredibly gracious with residents and families. There were smiles, conversation, photos and plenty of green and gold throughout the afternoon. Packers-themed prizes, including socks and hats, made bingo games even more fun.
"We are forever thankful to the Green Bay Packers for helping us create the kind of day we strive to provide our residents every day, one that is purposeful, active, social and full of life," said Laura Brandt, Director of Housing at Oak Park Place Dubuque.
The Packers also highlighted the visit on Packers.com, noting Oak Park Place Dubuque's amenities, including a movie theater, pub, ice cream shop and wellness center, serving residents across different levels of care.
For Oak Park Place, the visit was about more than a special guest appearance. It was a reminder of what vibrant senior living can look like when community, activity and purpose come together. Moments like this help residents stay socially connected, enjoy meaningful experiences and continue being part of the traditions they love.
At Oak Park Place Dubuque, senior living is more than a place to live. It is about creating opportunities for residents to stay active, engaged and connected with the people, teams and memories that matter most.
